Nice features, small room for improvement
I just moved from a Ubiquiti Unifi Access Point to an Apple Time Capsule. I was really missing the ability to view the wireless client list, and assign custom names to the clients that I had with the Unifi, so I was looking for an app that gave me similar functionality on the Mac. Found several references to this app online, so thought I’d try it out. For $10, it’s not a bad app. Allows me to do exactly what I wanted, which was to view all connected clients and give them custom names. The icon set is nice as well, however the ability to add custom icons would be really nice. Things such as Belkin light switches and Nest thermostats really have no corresponding icons in the provided icon sets.
Also, I was really disappointed to find out that some of the features of this particular app do NOT work with newer Time Capsule models. I was looking forward to, based on the provided screenshots, the ability to view network traffic graphs and signal strength of connected devices. There is a small blurb in the description stating which models are supported which I did not see at first glance. Screenshots say “Supports most Apple Routers”, so I assumed the newest ones would work fine. Other than these minor issues, the app still does what I wanted.
